Ş., which owns the largest fairground of Tur- key, and Istanbul Expo Center with- in its structure, at this office. Due to the epidem- ic, we could not shake hands with him and we sat down by paying attention to the social distance. He welcomed us with his warm smile and we were welcomed with sincerity and great kindness. We had some talk, we asked and he replied. Now, we are sharing his answers with you. We believe it was an efficient inter- view for the fair or- ganization sector. Fuar orga- nizasyonuyla bağlantılı havayolları, oteller başta bütün sektörler zarara uğradı. Biz bu süreçte hiç kimseyle bir sorun yaşamadık. Çünkü en başın- dan beri fuar organizatörleriyle iletişim halinde olduk ve onları dinledik. Sözleşmelerdeki cezai unsurları kaldırdık, bütün ödemeleri erteledik. Hiçbir fuarcıya cezai bir uygulama yapmadık. Ayrıca 2021 için de fuar organizatörleri lehi- ne birçok avantaj sağladık, şartları iyileştirdik. Gelen tüm taleplere olumlu yaklaştık, oluşan hasarın çoğunu üstlenmeye çalıştık. Çünkü inanıyoruz ki fuarcılar ayakta kalmalı ki biz de yaşayalım. Sosyal ve ticari sorumluluk alarak üzerimize düşeni yaptık” dedi. “Alan Yetmiyor, Dışarı Çadır Kuruyoruz” “Bizim tek ve en büyük eksiğimiz fuar alanları- mızın yetersizliğidir. Bu sağlandığında rahatlık- la dünyada söz sahibi olabiliriz” sözleriyle yeni ve büyük fuar alanları ihtiyacına dikkat çeken Kanca “Ticaret potansiyelimiz çok iyi, kısa sü- rede kaliteli mal üretebiliyoruz, taleplere cevap verebiliyoruz, tecrübeliyiz. Her sektörde kendi- mizi ispatladık. Fuarcılık da özünde ürünlerin sergilenmesi, tanıtılmasıysa, bizim bir değeri- miz olmasa, ortaya ne koyacaksın, ne tanıtacak- sın ki? Bizim birçok sektörde güçlü firmalarımız var bunların potansiyelini fuarlarda en net şe- kilde görebiliyoruz. İhracatımız her yıl artıyor. Sanayi altyapımız güçlü olması büyük avantaj. Fuarcılık sektörü açısından jeopolitik konu- mumuz, THY desteği, otel, kongre altyapımız çok iyi bunlar büyük artılar. Bu kadar avantaj varken fuarcılık biraz destekle, iyileştirmeyle çok hızlı ilerleyebilir. Örnek vermek gerekirse, yakın geçmişte kongre turizminde altyapıya ya- pılan yatırım karşılık bulmuş ve Türkiye Avrupa 2.si pozisyonuna gelmişti. Fuarcılık konusunda da altyapıya yatırım yapılırsa bizim girişimcimiz Türkiye’yi üst sıralara taşır, buna inanıyorum. Şu an bazı uluslararası fuarların kriterlerini kar- şılayamıyoruz maalesef. When the exhibitions canceled, our hall started to remain empty, all the expenditure and efforts of the exhibition organizers were wasted. Airlines, hotels and all sectors associated with the fair organization suffered losses.We had no problems with anyone in this process. This is because we have always been in communication with the exhibition organizers from the very beginning, and we listened to them. We removed all the penalty clauses in the contracts and postponed all payments. We have not implemented any penalties to any fair organizer. Also for 2021, we also provided many advantages in favor of exhibition organizers, we improved the conditions. We showed a positive approach to all received requests, we tried to undertake most of the damage. This is because, for us to survive, we believe that the exhibition organiz- ers must survive. We did our part by taking social and commercial responsibility.” “Space Is Not Enough,We Set UpTents Outside” Pointing out the need for new and large fairgrounds, “Our only and biggest deficiency is the inadequacy of our fairgrounds. When this is achieved, we can easi- ly have a voice in the world,” Kanca said. “Our trade potential is very good, we can produce quality goods swiftly, we are able to respond to demand, we are expe- rienced. We proved ourselves in every sector. We have strong companies in many sectors, we can see the po- tential of them in the clearest way at the exhibitions. Our exports are increasing every year. Having a strong industrial infrastructure is a great advantage. Our geo- graphical location, THY support, hotel and congress infrastructure are very good in terms of the fair organi- zation sector. These are important assets. While there are so many advantages, fair organization can progress
