Pandeminin getirdiği mali zorluklara rağmen fuar alanlarında önemli iyileştirme ve ek yatırımlar yaptık 11 Kasım 2020 ta- rihinde, yenilenen fuar alanlarımızı fuarcılık sektörüne tanıttık. Dünyadaki fuar merkezlerini dikkatle inceliyo- ruz. Görüyoruz ki tarihi dokusu ile turizm kapasitesi ve ticaret hacmi ile İstanbul açık ara dünyanın fuar merkezi olmayı hak ediyor. İnanıyoruz ki; gerek bizlerin beledi- ye olarak, gerek fuarcılık sektörünün başarılı çalışmaları ile birlikte yapacağımız çalışmalar ile oluşturacağımız sinerji kısa süre içerisinde İstanbul’u fuarcılığın çekim merkezi haline getirecektir. COVİD-19 pandemisinin dünya genelinde olum- suz etkilediği sektör yeniden ayağa kalkma mü- cadelesi veriyor. Bu süreçte yerel yönetimler sek- törde faaliyet gösteren firmalara ne gibi katkılar sağlıyor? Covid-19 pandemisi sürecinde birçok sektörde olumsuz etkiler görüldü ancak fuarcılık sektörü en çok etkilenen sektörlerin başında yer aldı. Bu süreçte çok hızlı hareket ederek bürokrasiyi de ortadan kaldırıp ge- rek fuarların ertelenmesi hususunda gerekli kolaylıkla- rın sağlanması gerek fuarcılık sektörünün ödemelerinin ertelenmesi noktasında birçok kolaylığı hemen gerçek- leştirerek sektörde faaliyet gösteren firmalara bir nebze olsun katkı sunduk. We believe that the synergy we will create with the works we will do together with the suc- cessful works of both us as the municipality and the fair organization sector will make Istanbul the center of attraction in a short time. The sector, which has been adversely affected by the COVID-19 pandemic worldwide, is strug- gling to get back on its feet. In this process, what kind of contributions do local governments make to companies operating in the sector? During the Covid-19 pandemic process, negative ef- fects were seen in many sectors, but the fair indus- try was one of the most affected sectors. In this process, we acted very quickly, eliminating bu- reaucracy and providing the necessary facilities for postponing fairs and postponing the pay- ments of the fair organi- zation sector, and con- tributed a little bit to the companies operating in the sector. Nevertheless, we have taken all pan- demic precautions in the exhibition halls in order to ensure that the com- panies that hold fairs in this difficult period orga- nize a healthy fair, and that the exhibitors and visitors are satisfied.
